At the Parish Assembly on 9 May the Town Council will be presenting its annual Community Awards. If you would like to make a nomination please contact the Town Clerk. Nominations of young people would be particularly welcome.

This year's entries into the South & South East in Bloom competition have now been made by the Group. In addition to entering the town as a whole the Almonry garden has been nominated in the Small Parks category and the cemetery in a new category for cemeteries. The Group will also soon be launching this year's local Battle in Bloom competition. As usual there will be awards for the Best Front Garden, Best Hidden Garden and Best Container Garden. There will also be a new category for the Best New Garden Entrant. If you would like to take part in the competition please contact Carol at the Town Council on 772210

The main work creating the hard surface footpaths has been completed together with repairs to some fencing and steps. The first stage of replanting will take place in the early spring using a mixture of primroses, snowdrops, foxgloves, bluebells, wood anemones and aconites. General tidying up of the wood, including litter clearance will also be undertaken shortly and if you would like to help with this please contact the Town Clerk.
