Elections
*

The 16 current Members of the Town Council have all been re-elected as the seats were uncontested. A vacancy in Marley Ward was also uncontested and a new Councillor, Rob McDonald, was therefore elected.

Annual Report and Parish Assembly
*

Prior to the Parish Assembly the Town Council circulated to all households a copy of the 2010-11 Annual Report which also included all the Parish Assembly details.

Community Awards
*

At the Parish Assembly on 13 April this Award was presented to Stella and Marian Eagles for their work in organising day trips and short holidays for retired people between 1991 and 2008.

Battle in Bloom Group
*

A group has been set up to help keep the town looking marvellous. The group is made up of 3 Town Councillors and 3 representatives of Beautiful Battle. The South & South East in Bloom competition was entered with the Town winning a Silver Gilt award and the Almonry Garden a Gold.

Civic Service
*

This year's Civic Service took place at St Mary's Church on 12 June.

Mansers Shaw
*

The Council have been successful in a grant application to the Lottery Fund to help with the cost of implementing a management plan for Mansers Shaw. Work has recently been carried out to improve the way marking of the area.

Office Space Available
*

Office space at the Almonry became available from 1 April. If you are interested in taking a lease please contact the Town Clerk.
