Vacancies for Town Councillors

Eleven people have been nominated for election to the Town Council. This leaves six vacancies to be filled by co-option: Marley Ward (2) Watch Oak Ward (4)

Battle Roundabout - Marking a Landmark Year for Battle..... with a Landmark!
*

Paris has its Eiffel Tower and Sydney has its Opera House...why shouldn't Battle have an equally iconic landmark, asks Battle Town Council, even if it may end up being just a little more modest? 2016 sees the 950th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings and Battle Town Council is planning to mark this big milestone for the town with an art installation on the main roundabout adjacent to the library and fire station.

A Neighbourhood Plan for Battle

Battle Town Council has applied to Rother District Council as the local Planning Authority to have the whole of the Town Council area designated as a potential Neighbourhood Plan area.

At the its meeting on 21 January 2015 the Council adopted the Grant Awarding Policy as attached. The application form can also be found below.

As part of the Data Transparency regulations, the Council now includes expenditure items as reported to the Full Council meeting on this website.

Newsletter

The Council's latest newsletter is now available throughout the town. Due to an administrative error Cllr Jessop has been omitted from the list of Watch Oak ward Members. We would like to confirm that Richard Jessop remains an active Member of the Council.

Battle Town Council have appointed Trevor Houghton-Berry as Project Manager

Any individual or group that is planning a 950th anniversary event in the town is welcome to contact Trevor to discuss their plan and make it formally part of what is already shaping up to be a wonderfully hectic schedule. Allotments

The Council currently has a number of vacant plots. If you are interested in taking on an allotment please contact Carol Harris, Deputy Town Clerk 01424 772210.
